5 Of The Best Movies To Help You Channel Your Inner Girl Boss

We’re all about empowering and cool chicks, and nothing is better than having a movie marathon with your friends to watch strong female led films. Below we share five of our fave movies of all time – all with babes that are total #Girlboss material.

1. Legally Blonde (2001)

Elle Woods (Reese Witherspoon) showed us that a Happily Every After is not always about getting the guy. She may have been too ‘blonde’ for Warner, but Elle is perfect for us. She not only got into Harvard Law, but graduated top of her class, won the murder trial and on top of that, never sacrificed who she was and what she stood for in the process. Plus we’re not gonna lie, we can still quote at least half this movie by heart because once a Delta Nu, always a Delta Nu

2. Ocean’s 8 (2018)

Debbie (Sandra Bullock), Danny Ocean’s estranged sister leads a remarkable team of women to steal a $150 million Cartier necklace from the Met Gala in this Ocean’s Eleven spin off. Debbie’s crew is a dream team of leading ladies; Cate Blanchette, Rihanna, Awkafina, Mindy Kaling, Anne Hathaway, Sarah Paulson, and Helena Bonham Carter. It’s slick. It’s smart and it may very well be the perfect heist – making you wonder if Danny really did even need his eleven-man crew after all

3. Miss Congeniality (2000)

Gracie (Sandra Bullock) lacks refinement and femininity but when there is a terrorist threat to the Miss United States contest she is the only FBI agent for the job. As in she is the only female FBI agent, but she is a far cry away from being pageant queen. Gracie is one of the boys and likes being that way. Not only does Gracie pull off being a pageant girl (mostly), she saves the day, and the pageant too… her dignity not so much.

4. Clueless (1995)

Alicia Silverstone stars as Cher in this adaptation of Jane Austen’s Emma. Clueless is much more than your average high school teen movie. Cher may be totally clueless but she is also smart. Her manipulation of other people may leave something to be desired, but she does learn her lesson. And just between us, has Paul Rudd aged at all since this flick?!

5. The Devil Wears Prada (2006)

Centred on Miranda Priestly, a powerful and intimidating fashion magazine editor, and Anne Hathaway as Andrea “Andy” Sachs, who lands a job as Priestly’s co-assistant with zero to no fashion experience. Andy faces countless obstacles in the pursuit of one day landing her dream job – including an unsupportive boyfriend – but she (and us) soon learn that you can stay true to yourself whilst becoming the girl boss you’ve always dreamed of.
